Man Killed In Motorcycle Crash In Ocala

MotorcycleAccident3

Motorcycles are fun to ride, especially in Florida’s gorgeous weather, but they come with many dangers. Unlike passenger vehicles and trucks, motorcycles offer no protection in the event of a crash. Even a minor motorcycle accident can cause serious injuries or even death.

Sadly, this was recently the case in Florida, when a man was killed in a motorcycle crash in Ocala. The fatal accident occurred on the morning of September 24 on SW 48th Avenue.

A 51-year-old man was riding a motorcycle in the 4900 block of SW 48th Avenue, near Interstate 75 and Highway 484. He drifted off the road for unknown reasons and his motorcycle hit the curb. The man could not control his motorcycle as it scraped the curb for 75 feet. He was ejected from the Harley-Davidson

The man was taken to a local hospital, where he later died. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Motorcycles and Curbs

Curbs may not seem like a serious issue for cars and other large vehicles, but for motorcycles, curbs can be dangerous—and even deadly. The outcome of hitting a curb will depend on various factors, such as the type of bike, the suspension on the bike, the height of the curb, the angle at which the curb was hit, and how the rider is positioned. In some cases, the motorcycle will go right over the curb with ease if it is low enough. In other situations, the rider may not be so lucky.

When motorcyclists lose control and hit curbs at high speeds, they can crash and even become ejected. A rider who is ejected may land many feet away on the ground. They may even collide with another object. In some cases, motorcyclists are thrown out into the road, where they can then get run over by a vehicle. In any case, an ejection from a motorcycle can lead to road rash, broken bones, head trauma, neck and back injuries, and even death.

When going around a curve, a motorcyclist who is not riding correctly can slide into the curb. If you notice this happening, your best bet is to slide out from under the motorcycle. This will keep you from rolling over, which can lead to broken bones and other serious injuries. By sliding out, you may not get much more than road rash if you are adequately protected with a helmet, jacket, and durable pants.
