President Drove Florida Man to Drink and Drive

dui

Some people have trouble taking responsibility for their actions. They can’t ever admit that they’re wrong. They always have to blame someone else. Some will even blame a person they’ve never even met – like President Donald Trump.

While President Trump is getting blamed for a lot of things lately surrounding the coronavirus, racism and other hot topics, a Florida man is blaming him for causing him to drink. That’s right – the man was upset over something Trump said and that caused him to drink vodka, leading to a DUI charge.

The bizarre incident occurred on the evening of July 30. An 82-year-old man was charged with DUI after crashing a golf cart. The man drove over a curb, breaking the golf cart’s axle and windshield. Fortunately, the man suffered no injuries in the crash.

The man was charged with driving under the influence. But why did he drink before taking a ride on his golf cart? Well, he had quite a unique excuse. His reason was that he got mad after watching President Trump on TV. He got angry with something he said and proceeded to drink vodka.

Why Do People Drink and Drive?

Motorists know that drinking and driving is wrong and even illegal, but many do it anyway. Why do they choose to put their lives and the lives of others in danger? Why don’t they find another way to get home?

Some people feel invincible after drinking alcohol. Alcohol use impacts decision-making skills and gives you poor judgment. It affects the neurotransmitters in your body, so while you may think driving home drunk is the best choice, it’s really not. Adrenaline is such a transmitter, so people may feel a rush from doing something daring, such as driving drunk.

Another reason is pressure or embarrassment. A person may not want to call a friend or family member to come pick them up. They may just suck it up and do the best they can to drive home, despite being intoxicated. However, calling an Uber is the better choice if you want to avoid an accident and legal trouble.

Some people even attempt to drive home due to financial reasons. Getting a ride home costs money. Cabs, Ubers and buses all cost money. Even if you get a ride from a friend, they may ask for gas money. Many people are strapped for cash and just don’t have the extra money to pay someone to take them home. It’s cheaper to just drive home – until they are pulled over for a DUI and forced to pay thousands of dollars in fees and fines to get their license back.
